Sophia Hutchinson

Sophia has been working as an architectural assistant at ECD for over a year and is now undertaking her Part 3 qualification at the University of Westminster. Since being at ECD she has worked on a number of retrofit and new build housing projects learning lots about energy efficient buildings. She is currently working on a number of projects including; Crawley Wave 2.1 Retrofit, Cambridge Retrofit and Build Over and Luxborough Street. Prior to ECD she completed her Masters of Architecture in 2022 at the University of Sheffield. Her thesis project focussed on alternative uses for redundant concrete structures culminating in a retrofit design turning a multi-storey car park in Coventry into a Centre for Sustainable Food. The project looked for opportunities for biodiversity upgrading of the surrounding landscape and urban agriculture. From her Part I year out she has experience working on large scale residential developments in London.
