Sophia Hutchinson

Sophia completed her Masters of Architecture in 2022 at the University of Sheffield. Her thesis project focussed on alternative uses for redundant concrete structures culminating in a retrofit design turning a multi-storey car park in Coventry into a Centre for Sustainable Food. The project also looked at bringing more biodiversity into urban landscapes and urban agriculture. During her Masters she was involved in Sheffield’s Students for Climate Action group and is excited to learn more about Passivhaus and retrofit projects first hand at ECD. From her Part I year out she has experience working on large scale residential developments in London. She has worked on Passivhaus and Retrofit projects at ECD, including Gosport, Netherfield Waves 1 & 2, Verity Close and Ealing Energiesprong. She is currently doing her Part 3 professional qualification at the University of Westminster.
