Alistair Cameron is Regional Director of ECD Architects covering Scotland and the North of England. As a qualified Architect (ARB, RIBA) with 24 years of experience, an MSc in urban design, and a specialist in the design of education facilities he has extensive professional experience in all stages of the design and construction process, both for new-build and retrofit projects as well as experience at working with a variety of stakeholders on projects set within existing campuses, and has an extensive understanding of education facility use, stakeholder (department/ teaching/ learning/ community) issues, public participation, workshops and proactive client communication.

As a champion of sustainability and Certified Passivhaus Designer Alistair has further been able to support our education clients achieve their sustainability and climate change targets – for example Alistair delivered the £12m BREEAM Excellent Stevenson HIVE facility for the University of Glasgow, and has been working with the Scottish Futures Trust, the University of Strathclyde and the University of Edinburgh for the development of phased plans to decarbonise the buildings across their estates. Alistair is a guest lecturer on sustainability at New College Lanarkshire and has presented on the subject at a number of national conferences.
