Marta Borgo

Architect

Marta Borgo is a qualified Architect with over 5 years of experience in the UK. Recently she has also obtained certification as Retrofit Designer and in Building Energy Modelling using PHPP.

She completed her studies across Italy and Spain and in 2021 she has also gained a PGCert in BIM & Digital Built Environments at the University of Salford.

Prior to joining ECD in 2021, Marta mainly worked on new-build schemes of up to 300 dwellings at early stages, gaining experience on feasibility studies, concept and detailed design stages. In that time, Marta specialised in the residential sector and her experience spanned from one-off house refurbishment to new-built large-scale housing development, mixed-use schemes and Grade II Listed Buildings.

Since she joined ECD, Marta’s main focus has been moved to the existing UK housing stock and related strategies of how to improve buildings’ energy performance and people’s living standards. She has been involved in a number of fire remediation and retrofit projects at large scale, where the use of the PHPP tool ensures to meet the targeted energy requirements of each project.

In her role as Architect, Marta is also involved in several resident consultation events for which she produces boards and leaflets – her continuous engagement with the local community ensures that the proposed design brings not only social and economic benefits, but it also an effective response of residents’ needs.

Currently, Marta is working on several large scale SHDF retrofit projects, delivering high-quality design, energy efficiency upgrades and decarbonisation measures with the rest of the team.
