Laura Boffardi

Laura Boffardi is a Certified Passivhaus Designer with over 17 years of experience in the international architectural sector. Having earned her Master’s degree in Architecture from the University of Rome ‘La Sapienza’, she qualified professionally in Italy in 2009 before relocating to London in 2011. Her early career in the UK was supported by an international placement bursary at Claudio Silvestrin’s office, and she has since developed a comprehensive portfolio across all RIBA stages, spanning the residential, commercial, and healthcare sectors.

Driven by her humanitarian experiences with Architects Without Borders, Laura has built a career cantered on the UN Sustainable Development Goals. This ambition led her to pursue advanced studies in Sustainable Urban Development at TU Delft and to achieve formal certification as a Passivhaus Designer. Complementing this expertise, she also obtained PHPP Expert certification, providing her with the technical proficiency required for high-level building energy modelling and verification.

As Sustainability Lead for the London office and an active leader within the firm’s Sustainability Working Group, Laura manages the integration of energy modelling, thermal bridge analysis, and biodiversity strategies into the practice’s design methodology. Her expertise in deep retrofit and high-performance building envelopes ensures that projects meet stringent environmental standards while addressing the complexities of modern urban development.
