Laura Boffardi

Architectural Designer & Passivhaus Designer

BSc (Hons), March

Laura Boffardi is a qualified architect and Certified Passivhaus Designer with 16 years of professional experience.

She earned her Master’s degree in Architecture from the University of Rome ‘La Sapienza’ and qualified as an architect in Italy in 2009. In 2011, she was awarded an international placement bursary to join Claudio Silvestrin’s London office. Since then, she has worked in the UK across all RIBA stages on a diverse range of projects, including residential, commercial, and healthcare developments.

Alongside her professional practice, Laura has volunteered with Architects Without Borders on projects around the world. These experiences inspired her research into how architecture can support the UN Sustainable Development Goals, leading her to undertake further studies at TU Delft in Sustainable Urban Development and to become a Certified Passivhaus Designer.

At ECD, Laura is an active member of the Sustainability Working Group, where she shares expertise in biodiversity, retrofit, energy modelling, and thermal bridge analysis, helping to advance the practice’s sustainability knowledge and design approach.
