Claire Raftery

Claire Raftery is a qualified Chartered Architectural Technologist, Retrofit Coordinator and Retrofit Designer with over 10 years’ experience. In that time, she has worked in a number of sectors including residential, healthcare, science & technology, education and fire remediation. In each of these sectors Claire has worked on both new build projects and with existing buildings, however Claire has now focused her attention on the retrofitting of existing buildings in order to improve their thermal efficiency and reduce the risk of energy poverty.

In her role as Senior Associate, Claire works directly with clients to understand project briefs, set out high level strategies, produce programmes and communicate design requirements to both the architectural team and the consulting project team. Claire has excellent project management skills alongside maintaining high standards of design both detailed and conceptual, through this attention to detail Claire ensures that her and her team are outputting quality work which meets and exceeds client expectations.

Recently Claire has been working on a number of large scale retrofit schemes within the social housing sector. With Claire’s extensive knowledge of occupied retrofit, she has been able to set out decarbonisation strategies that deliver high quality retrofit whilst greatly reducing the heat demand of the properties and providing architecturally interesting solutions that maximise the benefit from available funding streams.
