Matthew Wingrove

Matthew is a qualified architect with 10 years’ experience and joined ECD in 2022. He’s a member of our Sustainability Working Group, and has a particular interest in lifecycle carbon emissions, balancing operational emissions of buildings in use, with emissions related to materials fabrication and construction activities. Matthew has qualified as a user of both Passivhaus Planning Package and One Click LCA programmes, which are tools for measuring operational and embodied carbon emissions in buildings.
He has worked on a range of new-build and retrofit projects at ECD, including Grahame Park, Green Man Lane, Durham SHDF wave 1, Crawley SHDF wave 1 & 2, and Fullers Slade SHDF wave 2.
Prior to joining ECD, Matthew gained experience across a range of sectors, including culture, education, office mixed use, and sport and leisure. He was project architect for Cambridge Central Mosque, which was shortlisted for the Stirling Prize in 2021. He has extensive experience leading design coordination with consultants, and working on-site with contractors to deliver projects.
