Euan Durston

Euan is Regional Director of ECD Architects covering London and the South of England as well as being a Certified Passivhaus Designer. He has 25 years’ experience in the design and delivery of housing for public sector clients including local authorities and housing associations. He began his career working on large scale Estate Regeneration and Community Architecture projects in East London under the Government’s ‘Estate Action’ programme. He has since worked in private practice at a range of scales, delivering new-build and regeneration schemes and continuing his interest in community involvement in the design process.

Euan has wide-ranging construction experience ranging from upgrade and refurbishment of existing structures through a range of new-build typologies including ‘traditional’ construction and off-site techniques including prefabricated timber panel (SIPS) systems, lightweight steel frame/cassette and volumetric modular construction.

Euan has seen considerable change in delivery modes during his career, moving away from traditional procurement to the delivery of projects through the integrated ‘Project Partnering’ route with much earlier involvement of the contractor and supply chain. He is experienced at leading both client- and contractor-led design teams to support the delivery of complex projects involving multiple stakeholders.
