Sustainability
ECD Architects has been a pioneer in Sustainable Design for 40 years. Our objective is to design high quality sustainable buildings that have a positive impact on their community and their environment. Sustainability is integrated into our designs from concept through to completion, and we make sure this is reviewed with dedicated checklists at every RIBA work stage.
As part of our response to the Climate Emergency, and our ongoing commitment to sustainability, we have signed up to Architect’s Declare, the AJ RetroFirst Campaign and the RIBA 2030 Challenge.
For all of our clients, we provide an initial, free-of-charge, Passivhaus Analysis at feasibility stage to enable them to make an informed choice.
We have a team of qualified Passivhaus Designers, both in London and Glasgow, who have great experience in designing ultra-low-energy holistic buildings that respond to their context, are economical to run and provide healthy indoor environments.
To meet the UK carbon reduction commitments for 2020 and 2050, building owners will be required to upgrade their buildings to meet an increasingly stringent set of energy performance requirements. The EnerPHit standard offers a very clear methodology on how to achieve these requirements on refurbished buildings.
Our services:
- Integrated Passivhaus / EnerPHit Design (with or without certification)
- Retrofit Coordinators
- Environmental Consultancy and Sustainability Statements
- Embodied Carbon / Lifecycle Assessments
- Post Occupancy Evaluations and Building Performance Monitoring
- Soft Landings services
ECD Architects are certified by ISO 9001 and ISO 14001, to ensure our quality and environmental working standards.
