Weekend Away for ECD Staff

The ECD London and Glasgow teams joined forces for our annual study trip September 10-12. This year, we went down to the South Coast of England, visiting both Portsmouth and Shoreham by Sea. We viewed two of our brilliant projects, Wilmcote House in Portsmouth City Centre (Winner of multiple awards, including the Constructing Excellence Awards for Sustainability Category 2018) and Sussex Yacht Club in Shoreham by Sea (Shortlisted for the AJ Architecture Awards for the Leisure Project category 2021) .

For the majority of the team it was the first time visiting these projects so it was wonderful experience to see our work in person. Whilst down in Shoreham we spent the evening at our Director Dan Jenkin’s beach hut and some of us were brave enough to swim in the sea! We also managed to visit the amazing Spinnaker Tower in Portsmouth where we ate brunch with a view.

As our team has expanded so much over the last year and, with all the Covid restrictions that have prevented us from seeing eachother, it was a great opportunity for people to be reunited and for many to meet for the first time in the flesh. The entire weekend was a huge success which the whole team thoroughly enjoyed it and we are all eager and ready for the next one!
