March 6, 2014

We are pleased to announce that ECD Head of Sustainability Nick Newman has been included in Building Magazine’s list of rising sustainability stars for 2014.

This is a feature undertaken by Building Magazine each year “to shine a light on the next generation of people embedding sustainability across the built environment industry”.

It is compiled from nominations from some of the foremost experts in sustainability from across the sector.

Nick is a Certified European Passivhaus Designer, and has worked on some of the UK’s first and foremost low energy developments. He has a passion for understanding how low energy buildings operate in practice, having also led Post Occupancy Evaluation projects funded by the government’s Technology Strategy Board.

Most recently Nick presented at Ecobuild 2014 on ‘What can be achieved at scale by refurbishing a tower block to Passivhaus Standards’. This talk used our Wilmcote House project in Portsmouth which Nick is currently overseeing to discuss the benefits of ‘Delivering Retrofit at Scale’.
