Wolfgang Küchler

Wolfgang joined ECD in 2024 as Senior Architect, with over 30 years’ experience primarily in housing design and retrofit, leading teams on some award-winning new developments and in social housing retrofit. He is a qualified Retrofit Coordinator and has spent the last three years updating related skills such as thermal bridge calculation and retrofit of traditional buildings, as well as engaging in delivering training for builders and clients. 

Wolfgang contributed to the “Climate Jobs: Building a Workforce for the Climate Emergency” report and was a contributor on the AJ article ‘In practice: Decarbonising social housing – what we have learnt at URBED‘ – an article which was published 9 March 2023 and provides reflections on the growing Social Housing Decarbonisation sector and offers tips for other architects thinking of getting involved.

He is currently very happily engaged in helping to deliver the retrofit of 3,500 homes in Renfrewshire.
