Sam Germann

Architectural Assistant

BA

Sam Germann is a Part 1 Architectural Assistant based in ECD’s London office with a degree in Interior Architecture. Having initially joined the practice for a work experience placement, Sam returned following his graduation from the University of Hertfordshire. Sam has a particular interest in sustainable, affordable and purposeful design, and is keen to develop his knowledge of how architecture can respond to the environmental and social challenges facing our towns and cities.

During his studies, his dissertation explored how architecture is responding to flood risk in London, examining the capital’s floodplain and vulnerability to water as part of the wider challenge of designing for a changing climate. His university work also explored sustainable and affordable models of shared living for young people.

At ECD, Sam is continuing to broaden his architectural and sustainability knowledge while gaining practical experience as part of multidisciplinary project teams.
