Donald Simpson

Donald is a skilled communicator who excels at working with key clients, stakeholders and local authorities to develop designs for complex sites. He has the ability to develop an outline brief in response to limited budgets while maintaining client expectations for quality and functionality.

His work has focused on education, cultural, commercial, and residential projects many featuring prominent listed buildings and sites located in conservation areas. Donald has coordinated a wide range of design teams on complex University developments and has delivered small refurbishment projects through to large University masterplans.

Donald has a passion for sustainable design and has been a certified Passivhaus Designer since 2020 with a particular interest in the PHPP software. He is a mentor for part 1 and part 2 students looking to sit their professional exams.
