Jasper Godin
Architectural Assistant
BArch(Hons), MArch
Jasper is a Part II Architectural Assistant who recently completed his MArch in Architecture at the University of the West of England, Bristol. His thesis explored the societal shift towards what Saskia Sassen defines as the “Extractive Entity” in Expulsions: Brutality and Complexity in the Global Economy. Through the adaptive reuse of derelict train arches in Spitalfields, his project proposed an “Analog Skill Centre” – a space designed to cultivate the natural and human skills of the community as a form of architectural resistance to extractive systems.
Driven by a commitment to sustainable and socially responsive design, Jasper is passionate about reimagining and reusing existing buildings. He is particularly interested in approaches that counteract extractive practices, with a focus on retrofit projects, as well as social and affordable housing.
Jasper is now developing his expertise in non-extractive architecture, refining skills in design management, Revit, and technical detailing. He aims to use these tools not just to design buildings, but to proactively foster architectural solutions that enable resilience, inclusion, and community value.
