Conor Gilmartin
Architectural Assistant
Conor is a Part 1 Architectural Assistant and a recent graduate from the University of Dundee, where he completed a Bachelor’s degree in Architecture. He has a strong interest in sustainable design, materiality, and expressed structure, and is passionate about creating user-focused architecture that responds meaningfully to its context.
Throughout his university projects, Conor placed particular emphasis on user experience and the expression of structural logic – using structure not only functionally but also as an aesthetic feature. He enjoys building detailed 3D models to explore and understand constructional and façade systems, and uses these models to develop clear, impactful visualisations that communicate the core design intent of each project.
Conor is currently gaining valuable experience at ECD Architects during his placement year, where he is deepening his understanding of Passivhaus design, residential projects, and sustainable retrofit strategies.
