John Heaney shortlisted

September 8, 2025

We are delighted to share that John Heaney has been shortlisted for the AT Awards 2025 Chartered Architectural Technologist of the Year Award!

The AT Awards are the premier accolades that celebrate outstanding achievement in the discipline of Architectural Technology, with winners announced on 26 September.

With over 20 years of experience across residential, mixed-use, commercial and education sectors, John has continually advanced his expertise – becoming a Chartered Architectural Technologist in 2016, a Certified European Passive House Designer in 2022, and most recently joining the CIAT’s Building Regulations Principal Designer (BRPD) Register for both HRBs and non-HRBs.

His technical leadership has been pivotal to projects such as our first Passivhaus-certified school, Thornhill Primary School, and the early-stage appraisal of the Carpenters Estate towers, which has since progressed to the redevelopment of James Riley Point. Today, John is central to guiding our regeneration, education and residential work, while also establishing ECD’s BRPD service.

Congratulations, John on a thoroughly deserved recognition of your expertise, commitment, and contribution to Architectural Technology!
