Passivhaus Masterclass and Conference 2024
September 10, 2024
We will be at the Passivhaus Masterclass and Conference, taking place on September 18-19th at the Mathematical Institute of Oxford.
The Passivhaus Masterclass will consist of for an exclusive detailed case study Masterclass on the Schwarzman Centre for the Humanities. The conference will then take place on the 19th September, bringing together industry experts to explore the role of Passivhaus in net zero neighbourhoods through a series of case studies, presentations, and panel discussions.
Passivhaus buildings provide a high level of occupant comfort while using very little energy for heating and cooling. They are built with meticulous attention to detail, and rigorous design and construction. Passivhaus buildings have a 75% reduction in space heating requirements, compared to standard practice for UK new build. The Passivhaus standard therefore provides the construction and development industry a robust methodology for achieving the carbon reductions targets set by the UK Government.
Gary Alston will be presenting at the conference on our large-scale retrofit project, James Riley Point- a renovation which reinvented a 23-storey semi-derelict residential tower, upgrading 136 homes to the Passivhaus EnerPHit Standard, and placing it at the heart of its community. Team members Francisco Cerezuela, Loreana Padron, Lizzy Westmacott and Laura Boffardi will also be in attendance.
