We are delighted to announce that our project Wilmcote House has been shortlisted for the AJ’s Retrofit & Reuse awards in the category ‘Retrofit Revisited’!

The Retrofit & Reuse awards celebrate architectural ingenuity, and the ‘reuse of building materials and structure in response to the climate emergency and changing requirements of use.’ We are incredibly proud to see our hard work in this area being recognised by the Architects’ Journal.

Wilmcote House, a residential refurbishment of three social-housing blocks following the Passivhaus/EnerPHit methodology, has made significant improvements in thermal comfort and energy efficiency. The positive feedback from residents and the monitoring and POE research conducted by institutions like the University of Southampton and the The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) further highlight its success.

The live judging at the AJ Retrofit Live conference on the 11 of September will be an exciting moment. A big thank you to our team, our forward-thinking Portsmouth City Council client, and the research bodies involved.
