Spotlighting Phoebe Pink’s role as Business Intelligence Developer:
Phoebe originally joined ECD as an Architectural Assistant, before taking on a new role as Business Intelligence Developer in September last year. The purpose of this role is to support construction projects through data-driven insights and analysis. Her responsibilities include creating and managing databases, developing automation technologies and producing reports to assist in data analysis. Phoebe conducts internal reviews with different teams across the business to identify the key challenges within their existing workflows, and works to find solutions to these issues, using tools such as Sharepoint, PowerBi and PowerApps.
One of her key focuses is increasing delivery efficiency and improving outputs within retrofit. She has identified the need to incorporate more advanced AI and Machine Learning within this industry if we are to meet the UK Parliament’s Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS) Committee’s Net Zero 2050 goal of retrofitting 28 million homes in the UK. As a result, Phoebe has worked on a successful proposal for an Innovate UK Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP). She will be collaborating with academics from UCL and a KTP associate on an innovative project to implement and embed AI and machine learning processes into practice, and developing a predictive tool to enhance the design outputs.
Phoebe’s role is important not only to ECD, but also to our clients, as she helps develop solutions to enhance operational efficiency, drive innovation in construction practices, and leverage advanced technologies to meet the evolving demands of the industry.
