Gosport On-site

Gosport on-site

July 11, 2024

We are delighted to announce that the contractor for our new developments for Gosport Borough Council has been appointed and the project is currently on-site!

As a landlord for over 3,000 homes, Gosport Borough Council’s mission is ‘to work with the community to improve everyone’s quality of life and deliver a sustainable future for the Borough.’

The new developments will provide 15 affordable and energy-efficient Passivhaus homes for the Gosport community. Passivhaus Standard buildings ensure a high level of resident comfort while using very little energy for heating and cooling, making the new homes environmentally friendly and energy efficient. Our fabric first approach will ensure energy efficiency and minimise running costs for future residents, along with high performance windows and doors, renewables, optimised solar gains, and minimised thermal bridging.

Set across three sites, the homes will be comprised of bungalows, as well as two and three-storey terraced housing. Designed with the local aesthetic in mind, the modern architecture will provide a modern interpretation of a traditional home. The use of brick and clay and the traditional pitched roofs have been modernised with hidden gutters, feature brick detailing, standing seam zinc roofs and projecting aluminium canopies. The creative asymmetric roofs provide a larger surface area for photovoltaic panels and sky lights.

PMC Construction and Development Services Limited, the project contractor, are committed to providing high quality and sustainable developments for local communities. Prioritising long term quality, their team uses innovative and environmentally-friendly construction techniques. We are excited to be working alongside them and Gosport Borough Council on this project.
