Lapworth Court Gets Go-ahead

infill for Westminster

October 2, 2019

We are pleased to announce that our proposals for Lapworth Court achieved planning last night.

Drawn up for Westminster Council, this new build-infill development in Westminster will deliver a terrace of three-storey, three-bedroom homes on land currently occupied by 32 garages at the centre of Lapworth Court, near Little Venice.

Planning officers recommending the scheme for approval highlighted that:

‘The scale of the fenestration creates hierarchy and relates the buildings to their neighbours, while the simplistic detailing comfortably identifies the buildings as later additions to the area.’

The new development will provide seven new homes on site of garage block.

This achievement of ECD designs for Lapworth Court continues the company’s success working with the Council and Westminster communities to design homes which achieve planning.

Last year ECD achieved planning permission for Ashbridge Street, a 26-home block, that is part of Westminster’s Church Street regeneration proposals, around a mile to the east of Lapworth Court.

Both schemes form part of the Council’s Infill Development Programme which is utilising vacant and redundant spaces and buildings throughout the borough of Westminster to build new homes for the benefit of the community.

Once complete these new developments will contribute to the authority’s target of delivering 1,850 new affordable homes by 2023 and its broader target of delivering 1,495 new homes a year for the next decade.
