GUU Hive Building Complete and In Use

The ECD Glasgow office have successfully completed the £8m extension to the Glasgow University Union and Stevenson building sports facility.
Known as the “Hive”, the extension to the GUU was officially opened on Saturday night and consists of a new nightclub, along with 4 new bars to complement the existing facilities. The new sports and recreation facility extension, officially opening on 28th October, is currently undergoing fit-out by the client team and incorporates new muscle conditioning and cardiovascular suites, along with a national competition standard sports hall with viewing gallery.
The University of Glasgow has been a key client for the ECD Glasgow team for the past 5 years. We are currently completing a very complicated space planning project for them involving the relocation, refurbishment and conversion of a number of spaces within the University James Watt Building to enable the relocation of a number of different departments and the development of a new nano tech lab facility known as the JNWC.
